I love photographing horses, my second greatest passion and my saving grace. There is a quote that states . . . . "Horses are God's apology for men." I couldn't agree more. Another great quote is "Nothing heals the inside of a person like the outside of a horse". These are all true.

Today I photographed Santa Fe and her 4 day old colt Titanium Driver, (barn name Tye). He was born at Dragonfy Farm, in Linden, Mi. Isn't he just beautiful?

Well the weather has been nothing but gloomy. I am awaiting spring with such great anticipation. It feels so late this year and I have so many plans.

Just a quick image of my wild flower field. I bought bags and bags of wild flower seeds to spread this year. So excited for more color out there.

Hmmmm, I need samples of all my new areas, maybe some mini-sessions, spot specific?

I have not updated my website in 4 years. I actually purchased a new template for my website two years ago. I haven't touched it in over a year. But I am planning on sitting down and really getting it up there soon. :) I need to show all my work from the last four years and all the beautiful new faces of Footprints ®.
Having said that, I am going to show you an ad. It is actually an ad that I have been designed about 2 years ago, but have been building on year to year. It was recently printed in a program for a benefit I attended last night supporting Angels of Hope. I donate my time and talent to their families and allow the foundation to use my images to promote the awesome work they do with these families.

Angels of Hope is a family cancer foundation. They provide financial assistance to families effected by childhood cancer, and well, for children effected by cancer at all. They are the only all volunteer based non-profit in Michigan, other than The American Child Photographers Charity Guild. http://www.angelsofhope.org/

As you all know I am the founder of the American Child Photographers Charity Guild. (www.acpcg.org) Our photographers are not required to do so, however, I personally supply families who qualify with not only a CD of all images, but with all their prints, etc.

This only happens twice a year and only when I need to raise funds for my work with these families. All of you long-time clients out there know that this kind of special doesn't come along very often, so be sure to book early before the available dates are gone

What is a Portrait Party?

A Portrait Party has a Hostess, that's you. The sessions take place at your home or at a local park (weather permitting). The Hostess invite the Guests and provide light refreshments, and schedules the Guests to arrive on a staggered schedule so no one has to wait too long.

The Hostess pays NO sitting fee AND gets 10% of the total Party sales as credit toward her own order. Although most people do put it back towards the charity.

The guests pay a deeply discounted sitting fee per child of only $50. Plus, all proceeds from the session go towards Erin's work with the American Child Photographers Charity Guild. Parents are complimentary and encouraged to be in some of the images.

The worst Blogger in the world...

If there was an award, I would be sure to win it. :)

This year has been wonderful. So many new clients, new contracts and a new additions to our family. Granted they came with four hooves or feathers, not 10 tiny toes. My kids are growing as you can see in the image at the top of this blog. I am having so much fun with them. I swear every age is my favorite, but they just keep getting better and better.

My favorite image of the year is this one....

These are my two youngest with our horses. I have been wanting this image for so long, it graced the inside of our Christmas card and I will be making a huge giclee canvas out of it to hang in my home. Thank you to my girls for putting up with me that cold snowy day. You have no idea how much I appreciate it.

In the new year, I hope to update my website with a new more "Erin" style. I hope to keep up my blog. I had a friend say to me that if you aren't blogging you just aren't busy. I had to argue. It is just so hard to find the time. I am going to try for a weekly schedule. After all, every six months doesn't seem to be working.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! [ Michigan Child Photographer ]

I admit that I am the worst blogger there is. I apologize. My life is anything but simple with the girls, the horses, the business and every other thing that goes on.

This year has been a good one. Other than my poor husband falling 12 feet off a ladder while trimming trees for me. He shattered his calcaneus (heel bone) went through surgery to have 8 screws of various sizes and wire to pull in all the little pieces installed. His surgeon walked out and said to me shaking his head, "That was a bitch". He was in a wheel chair for about 3 months and is walking now months earlier than they had originally anticipated.

I have had several new clients this year whose families I fell in love with. Many clients who return every year who I already feel close to. I love watching their children and the size of their families grow. I really do feel special in my role of documenting their lives. Thank you all for allowing me this pleasure.

My charity is still going strong. This is so bitter sweet. I am very proud of what we do, however, I wish there wasn't such a need for our services. One of my favorite pics is below, this is Evan and his family. Evan passed away on November 27, 2009 at the age of 7. I felt an immediate connection with is family. I think about them daily and I am so thankful for having gotten to know them. And blessed to have met and experienced the grace of Evan. I still look forward to getting up every morning and taking care of the horses. I can't imagine a life without them and I never want to. Regardless of what anyone who doesn't understand these animals think, I do get back from them as much as I give. In a way I feel saved from a life of only working. They have forced me to take more time out for my kids. In turn teaching my kids responsibility and pride.

We have a new addition to our herd.... above is Princess Spumoni. You may chuckle when seeing the royal title, however, when meeting her and getting to know her personality, you realize, she really has crowned herself. Spumoni belongs to my good friends, Jill and her daughter Paige. She fits right in and is well loved by everyone in the herd. She is quite fond of all the boys, if you get my drift. She and Tinkerbell are good friends, I can tell Tink likes having another mare around.

I had a blast decorating my house this year. Finally I put up garland surrouding the wrap around porch. If I had my choice, I would have put it up surrounding the pastures as well. Red bows as well. My girls chose the picture at the top of this post for our Christmas card, I love it and it shows the joy we have every day living on this horse farm. It really is amazing. Below I will close with a few pics from our Christmas card session. The girls were having a blast. One day I have to get the older three involved. It sure would be nice to have a picture of all five on the front... hint, hint, to my 3 oldest children.

The best news of all this year is about my oldest son Jimmy, I am so proud of him. Jimmy has graduated from Michigan State University's College of Engineering with a degree in Computer Science. He did amazing in school as to be expected from such a brilliant kid. He has some big decisions to make regarding his future, due to all his successes. I can't begin to tell you the pride we feel for him. He has always been a hard worker. He doesn't take anything for granted and has always had so much gratitude. I am really proud of the man he has grown into. My big goal for the summer is to throw the most amazing graduation party for him. Celebrating Jimmy. I can't wait. Congratulations Jimmy! We love you!

Meet 11 week old Marla. Who can resist a Boston Terrier puppy? Not me! This session was so fun and inspiring to me that I think every summer I am going have a weekend devoted to my clients Dogs. Maybe some Cool Cats too.

And my absolutel favorite! How Sweet is she?

Marla's Mom and Dad were recently married and she is their only child. She came running out full of love one day while I was photographing a client near her Daddy's work. I had to offer up a session and he happily obliged. Thank you John for allowing me some fun time. I really needed it.

HOORAY FOR SUMMER!!

Wow, what a bang summer has made in my life. I got out trail riding with my friend Cris, however, I took a bit of a fall and ended up with a concussion. This isn't my first, and I can tell you it isn't fun at all. Horse show season is upon us and the girls are having a blast. We have been super busy, life hasn't stood still for a minute. I am so happy that there is about to be a lull in shows, so I can get caught up on everything else. I can't believe it is almost time for my father's big 4th of July party. That is always a blast!

If you haven't received a reply to any emails, please resend. I am, again, having email issues. I apologize to one and all for not responding quick enough.

Here are some pictures of my gorgeous grandson Emmett . . . gotta love that grin. The awesome pic at the top is my absolute favorite. You can almost hear him laugh. Does he have a great face or what?Here he is flying my airplane swing. The kids can't get enough of it.

I love this picture of John and Emmett. I love my husband so much, in the beginning, what attracted me most to him is what a wonderful father he is to Rachel and Jimmy. He is just as wonderful to our girls. It used to make me cry watching him with the girls when they were babies, now I get all weepy watching him with Emmett.

Doesn't the property look like a park? I love it here, so serene. And so perfect for a photographer. Lucky me!

Girls and their horses - Madi and Ruckus

I love photographing girls and their horses. There is something special in that bond and when it comes through in the image, it is priceless. All you horse Mom's know what I am talking about.
When a senior girl wants her pics with her horse I know it is going to be a phenomenal experience. The top one is my favorite... I love the sunkiss tone on it, however, Madi prefers black and white.

Kids with Special Needs

This is Sarah. I should say Delightful Sarah with the beautiful eyes and hair. I can't forget her contagious laugh and smile. And her love of ponies. Sarah could have looked at the pictures on my iPhone for hours. Scrolling through all the pictures of my ponies.

Anyone who knows me, knows my love of children with special needs. I love to be surrounded by them. Even if it is just to bask in their presence. It makes me feel special and well, I feel honored to meet these kids.

My friend Karen went with me to photograph Sarah and her family. What an amazing visit. Sarah's Mom favors black and white photography, but I had to show the color of Sarah's eyes and hair.

I wanted to share these images. They just tug at my heart...

Ellie is a gorgeous 18.2 Strawberry Roan Clydesdale Mare. Some of you saw her when you were at my house in the spring. She is a gentle giant. I love to just lay on her and hug her and feel her sweetness.

We went out to her new farm to get a few pictures I wanted. Her mom did this for me and I am so thankful, they are images I wanted to capture from the beginning. Don't worry, Ellie is very, very careful with her feet.

Ellie loves children if you can't tell.

I thought this was funny as well. Ellie was just exhausted, modeling is not as easy as it looks!

November in Michigan...

It has been a while since updating my blog, I have been so busy with this Christmas season, the kids, the horses and trying to get everything designed and ordered. So my apologies. Thanks for the emails.

This past week has been so beautiful here in Michigan. Although most of the leaves are down, the weather has been in the high 60s to low 70s. Just gorgeous!

I have been able to photograph clients outside, which has been really nice, the kids are loving it and so am I.

This image is from this past weekend. I just love this little girl. From the curls, to her eyes, to that adorable little smirk. She is on the move now and ready to go!

Bella Artistry is the brainchild of Leah Miller - a very cool client of mine and a frustrated shopper, mother of two and (at the time of creation) a professional athlete's wife.

When she found there was nothing truly SUPER FLY for kids and wives of Pro Athletes to wear in support of their fathers'/ husbands' / boyfriends' / sons'/ brothers' teams,' Leah took it upon herself to create a line of hip and un-corny clothes to wear in support of her husband and his team. She began beautifying the clothing and shoes that she and her daughter would wear to games (or anywhere else they went).

One thing led to another, and eventually, she was embellishing anything and everything she could get her hands on: clothes, jerseys, shoes, belts, furniture, cake plates, candles, mirrors, pill boxes, picture frames, scrap books, pacifiers, pacifier clips, hats, you name.

CONGRATS LEAH!

LIFE.... a few things I have learned

Don't be so busy that you start to realize you have missed out on EVERYTHING!

Take time to play with your kids more. Silly play. Run around with them. They love it.

Sit and cuddle your kids as much as you can.

Make sure everyone knows how much you love them. Sometimes you never have the chance to tell them again.

Don't sweat the small stuff. Some things just don't matter. They mean something, but they really don't matter.

Hold yourself accountable.

Remember that everyone has a bad day once and a while. Just like you.

Don't get offended. Assume that whomever said it, just didn't get it out right.

Give others a break. We are all fighting our own battles.

Remember that people aren't always going to remember what you said, But they will always remember how you made them feel. Make them feel special.

There are too many people out there who need someone really bad. Be that someone.

Sometimes all someone needs is a shoulder to cry on. Give it to them and really listen.

Don't keep your distance. We are all supposed to be taking care of eachother. Life isn't about us, it's about everyone else.

Sometimes the simplest things to you, mean the world to someone else. Give it to them.

Live by example.

Have Faith.

Remember . . . Life is Good.

LOSING SCOUT

The last week and a half have been so difficult. Scout my beautiful 2 year old paint pony came down with Potomac Horse Fever. We lost him Thursday night. I can't begin to tell you how devastated we are. We sat with him for hours, traveling the hour to get to the clinic where he was on an IV to replenish fluids and plasma. Many told me that the money wasn't worth it, but I know Scout was. I know that I did everything I could, but it still is just heart breaking.

I do not know how to get over this loss, I doubt I ever will. It is different with horses, I don't know why. But it is true. You connect with them in a way you never will another animal. And sometimes other people.

Scout was a silly little boy, with a great sense of humor. He was sweet and loving and adored children. He had funny little antics and wanted to be the center of attention. But most of all, he was a Mama's boy. My sweet little boy.

The other horses are mourning the loss of Scout as well. They look for him and come up to me and nudge me trying to understand. Even little Tinkerbell was trying so hard to see into his stall, stretching up as high as she could go, looking for him. They are a close knit herd and it is so sad to see their grief.

Roy Rogers once said, "The best thing for the inside of a person is the outside of a horse". I truly believe he was right.

A Short Break in Travel Sessions...

I was talking with one of my long time clients about all my travel sessions. I thought it was going to be so glamorous. And it is, to think that so many people are willing to fly me in for family portraits. I love that part of it. However, too many trips in a row can wear on you. It is just exhausting.

I am back at home now, again, and getting ready to finish up all my gardens. It is so exciting knowing that I will have all these new areas to photograph clients in.

My front porch steps are proving to be a cool asset. I love this picture, and this kid. 3 is an amazing age. There is no other age, quite like 3.

The pond however, is my favorite. I love my pond. It is about 60 feet across and there are so many photo ops. It's awesome!

Here is one from the pond, that I really like.

I will be sharing more soon, of a few other unique opportunities this amazing piece of property is offering me. I am so blessed and so excited for this summer. I have so many ideas going through my head I am keeping a note pad handy to record them.

The Stanley Cup

While spending time with Lord Stanley's cup I was in awe of the history. I don't know how to explain it. While going over the cup closely, inspecting and reading over the names of the victors, past and present, I was caught up in this feeling of nastalgia and pride.

I wanted to photograph the cup in all it's glory. There are a few more shots I want to get and I will in a week or so.

Congrats to the Detroit Red Wings for keeping the Cup where it belongs, here in HOCKEY TOWN.

So what are your thoughts on Portrait Parties?

I have been getting a lot of requests to do parties where entire families or friends are all invited over. One family is the host...the host receives a complimentary session, earns a percentage of sales from the party towards their print purchase. The Host invites friends and family over (four guest family min.) at pre-appointed times. Sessions are at a discounted rate and only last about 20 minutes each. Obviously, this time limit is negotiable when dealing with children :).

I figure I can try this out. I have two booked already, but thought I would throw these dates out at you . . .

I am thinking this will be a great fundraiser for my all my charity sessions as well. So many of these families have absolutely nothing, giving them a CD of images does nothing for someone who can't afford to have them printed. I love surprising these families with prints ready for hanging when I know they want it but can't do it themselves. This is the stuff that feeds your soul.

Baby Horses

Ok, so I had to add a few pics of furry babies. We went to a Fresian farm to play with the babies and to see my friend Jill. My girls were running with the yearling fillies. These babies are so sweet and just want your attention. It was hard to photograph them, only because they are right in your face waiting for you to love them.

They got so excited while playing with my daughters... They all three took off running together in a circle around us.

And this little Filly is Allure, she is a very fancy Warmblood, only one week old. She was taking a very short break in the shade. She lives with her Mom Raven at Valboa Farms in Howell, Michigan.

She is such a sweet girl. Next time I photograph her, that halter is coming off.

First Holy Communion

Sunday, May 4, my Chloe Elisabeth made her First Holy Communion. I am so proud of her. She felt so special and kept looking over at our family smiling huge and then getting embarrassed. It was absolutely adorable. There were 22 children in all and I have to say, they were just the cutest little things.

My faith has always been a HUGE defining factor in my life. And I get so giddy with pride over my children.

This is all the grandchildren minus my brothers 3, my oldest daughter Rachel and my grandson Emmett.

And here are the little ones getting ready to go swimming. (see my gardens in the back! Woo hoo!)

My youngest, Chloe, yells this every time Eirinn and her family pull up. This is the type of family that you really want to have as clients. They love your work, they treat you great, they show up on time :), and they come back multiple times throughout the year! Let's not forget their kids are adorable. Woo hoo! YAY ME!

Here are a few of her mother pregnant. Remember, this is her fifth child... if only we could all look this good.

Eirinn's Daddy is a firefighter so we had to get a few with Eirinn in his gear. I would like to say all these images where I put babies in compromising positions were easy, but I have to admit, each set takes about an hour.

Today is a GORGEOUS Michigan spring day. A great day for a trail ride. Time to saddle up Mr. Handsome Ransom and go for a leisurely ride.

BABY CRAZY!!!!!

OK, so like, my baby is almost 8 1/2 years old. I am having a hard enough time as it is with her getting older. And then I have all these tiny babies coming and well, that baby itch is getting so much worse. HOLY COW!

Anyway, my husband is convinced five kids are enough. He always said, "someone has to be the baby!" I have always believed that I hadn't picked who was the baby yet.

Tomorrow is baby Eirinn, pronounced Erin. She is actually named after me. They couldn't help it once meeting me. My sparkling personality just won them over and they knew it was destiny to name their fifth after me! Woo hoo! I will update with Eirinn's pics soon.

Life is so good...

I was blessed to be able to host Easter for my family this year. It was awesome! Everyone was outside playing, it was sunny and warmish, with little snow on the ground. We had dirtbikes going, we had the horses all saddled up. We walked the property, had an Easter Egg hunt for the kids. John made his families recipe of Lamb. It was just great.

I have had some amazing clients lately. Beautiful sweet children who really touch your heart. Here is one little guy who I just love! His mom is just the coolest, this was something we did just for fun. Dominic and all his hats.

Well my client of the day is here, I must run. I hope everyone had a great Easter and I hope you are all blessed with an abundance of love and peace.

NO MORE WINTER

I am so tired of being sick. I am tired of going to the Dr. I am tired of Strep throat. I am tired of rescheduling sessions because I wake up in the middle of the night with a throat burning like a fire. I am tired of walking into the office and having the nurses say, "Not again! You really need to get those tonsils out!" It is knocking me out for at least 4 days at a time.

I do, however, like the raspy voice. I bet I could sing just like Janis Joplin if I wanted to.

"Take it, take another little piece of my heart now baby!"

Humor, that must be a good sign!

Sweet baby Jayse . . .

I just spent two days in Florida with this sweet little man and his family. Let me tell you, babies like Jayse truly promote the baby itch. He was so good. Not because he was sleeping a lot, or because he hardly cried. And not because he let me put him in all kinds of poses, never complaining. He was just sweet. Sweetness oozes out of him. The whole family was like that. They are the epitome of the word "schmoopie" (especially his Grandpa!). And to top it off, they are all etremely good looking. What more could a photographer ask for?

Anyway, here are a few of my favorites . . .

Woo hoo! Another Billboard!

I love seeing my work on billboards!

This is an image I took of Jack, a sweet little guy who lost his battle to brain cancer November of 2006. Jack and his family were referred to me through The Rosemary Hockney Foundation by my good friend Mike Hockney.

The billboards are all over Michigan and will be rotating. I have no idea where any are other than the two that are posted at 14 mile and I-75 in Royal Oak, Michigan. Right next to Oakland Mall.

I donate sessions to all families who have children with cancer or children who are effected by cancer. The Hockney Foundations supplies these families with Fine Art Prints and whatever else I think they need over and above what the ACPCG supplies.

Jack and his family hold a very special place in my heart. They are open to helping other families cope and come to terms with what they are going through. It's been a tough road but they are honoring their beautiful boy and all the children who have suffered from this terrible diagnosis.

The Hockney Foundation is holding their annual fund raiser "A night of Hope" on May 3, 2008 at the Mirage Banquet Center in Clinton Township. Donations can be made through their website at http://www.rosehockneyfoundation.com/ .

If you know of any families who's childrens lives are affected by cancer, please spread the word about The Hockney Foundation.

Putting a face to Down Syndrome - Trisomy 21

I am on a mission. I started quite a while back and I am going to fulfill it in the next few months.

Down Syndrome technically known as Trisomy 21. I am so horrified at the rate that children with DS are aborted. 9 out of 10 babies lives are "terminated" just because they have Trisomy 21.

Dr.s recommend termination. They don't view these wonderful children who are obvious gifts from God as worthy human beings. I wonder how many of these Dr.s have actually met a child with DS? How many of these Dr.s have held them or played with them had the absolute pleasure of talking with a child who has DS? Talk with parents who have children with DS, find out how great it is.

The sad thing is that there are so few of these children anymore that very few people are graced with their presence. 9 out of 10 lives taken. That number is horrific. How could anyone look into the eyes of these gorgeous beings and say, "You don't count!" "you are not worthy of life and love". How do these Dr.s play GOD? How do you sleep at night knowing a child was killed because you recommended it, only due to the fact that you don't find them perfect?

This Michael. Michael is four years old, super loving and has the most amazing personality. Michael loves to make you laugh, he is an entertainer and will go far. Michael is so smart and silly. He laughed the entire time I was photographing him. He is sweet and silly and funny as can be. He is a total book worm and loves looking at all pictures. Michael knows he is cute and well, he knew I was smitten.

This is Lauren, I have loved Lauren since before she was born. I was in the delivery room, photogrphing her birth, and I have photographed her ever since. Lauren is so beautiful and loving and silly. Lauren loves baby dolls and is a very good Mommy to them. Lauren is Love. This first image is Lauren signing love because we asked her about babies. Lauren loves babies.

This is Sophia, she just turned 1 the other day. I have watched her every Sunday in church with her siblings who adore her the way she should be. She is sparkly and warm and so sweet and loving. Sophia goes in for open heart surgery soon so please keep her in your prayers.

So, now can you look at these faces and tell me they don't count?

Just thought I should share a few pics I got recently while Kent was home from school. He is so good with his sisters and they just adore him. It is hard with the older kids, they don't understand why I want pics of them. I always seem to end up forcing them into it. And then for some reason they refuse to sit the way I want them for long, give me not so normal smiles and the complain the entire time. Poor, poor little children. :)

Today, however, is Kent's 20th Birthday. My baby boy. I am so, I don't know. It just doesn't feel right. He should be 8 years old, not 20. Kent is my first born and there is a certain something there. My Mother always said there was something special in a Mother and Son relationship. Not that there wasn't anything special between Mothers and Daughters. But just something she couldn't name. I know what she means. I love you my boy. I love watching you with your sisters. I love every minute I have ever had with you. You are such a light in my life. Happy Birthday!

Cooper wanted so badly to be in the picture, I tried to get him to move around but he wanted to sit in his brothers lap as well. My sweet sweet Cooper. He is such a mama's boy and tries so hard to please me all the time. You can see it in his eyes. I just love this dog!

My last session of 2007 is tomorrow. I went one month over my planned cut off date. Thankfully they were all so much fun! I have gotten the best images and designed some really cool cards, each one custom to each individual client. It is a lot of work, but so much fun.

Well, We bought the farm!

Literally! Woo hoo! We are the proud owners of an 18 acre horse farm. The property is phenomenal and absolutely picture perfect! I am so excited to call this place home! There is a 7 stall barn, indoor arena, outdoor arena, pool, pond, gardens, trails, 9 paddocks/pastures. It is awesome!

There is this awesome pond. It has gardens all around it with a gorgeous waterfall. The lighting is spectacular. There is even a barn that will be converted into another natural light studio. Wheel chair accessible too. Who could ask for anything more? I can't wait to get started on the gardens in the spring. My kids are going to love growing up here.

We even bought two more ponies to have at home. Scout and Tinkerbelle. Scout is just a baby, not even 3 years old yet. He is sweet as can be and the girls are really looking forward to training him. Tinkerbelle is between 7 and 8. She is a small Welsh. I am so excited to get these guys home. Handsome Ransom (Brownie) is coming home as well. Time to retire the beautiful man. He loves to fly over the jumps but he isn't as young as he thinks he is. He deserves to be king of the barn and will be at home to be spoiled like he should be.

Isn't she the sweetest? I am in love!

KID MAGNET

To say that kids love me is an understatement. I am a Kid Magnet. They swarm around me and it has been this way as long as I can remember. My wonderful Mother used to say that I was "Maternal from Birth". My neighbors used to call me the "Pied Piper of Children" and my clients have often called me "The Baby Whisperer". I find all of this very endearing, I get all filled up with the warm fuzzies just thinking about it.

When you love them, they know it, they feel it and they respond to it.

That said, I want to introduce some kids who just adore me. The feeling is completely mutual.

How do you get an 18 month old to pose like this? Well little Miss "S" is very shy, but not with me! I love her and she knows it! We had a blast! I asked her to sit up and she said, "NO! I want to sit down!" and flopped herself back giggling with joy.

Can you believe these boys? They are the sweetest little guys.

Little man "H" shown below drew a picture of me. His mom asked what was hanging out of my mouth and "H" said, "A worm". His Mom asked why there was a worm hanging out of Erin's mouth and "H" replied, "Erin likes worms!" all matter of fact. Maybe in my garden, or when fishing, but sorry "H", Miss Erin doesn't eat them!

This is big man "G" imitating me! Gotta love it!

And yes, she is pregnant with her fourth and still looks that good! Amazing isn't it? Dad is just as good looking and does very well in front of the camera. I have so much fun with this family and I just adore them.

In two weeks I will be photographing the new baby, I was hoping for another girl, but I am totally getting the BOY vibes. Stay tuned!

All I can say is, I love kids, I have a blast photographing them.

This is Bryce. His mother is our trainer (yes,horses again!) He complained the entire time I was photographing him while he was obviously loving it. He is so cute and such a ham. He loved the attention and it was obvious! Photographing boys his age doesn't happen often. I read once that 12 year old boys are the least photographed people. I understand they complain a lot, but it is such a GREAT age, they have so much to say and it is all so innocent still!

Life after Pony Finals . . .

Well Horse Show season is over. Pony finals were this weekend and my girls did AWESOME! We have absolutely the best trainer. And of course my girls are extremely talented. I am so excited for life to slow down and I can concentrate more on just my clients and my kids. No more getting ready for pony shows, until March/April. Woo hoo!

This is my ten year old when she knew she had a perfect trip, winning her the blue ribobon. Look at that grin! I am so proud, I am gushing!

This was her last show on 25 year old Lunar, she has won too many blue ribbons to compete in Short Stirrup and will move up to Novice and Children's on her new pony Dazzle. Novice and Children's jumps are too high, and probably too much for Lunar to do.

And this little beauty is my seven year old, she had a great show too, won a blue ribbon in the Hunder Classic. Which means she won $42 towards her classes. I am so proud her her, she is such a tough little girl.

Life is good in the Drallos household, and I think we are all definitely ready for this break.

My Christmas season is in full swing and I have about 40 phone calls to return, so I will bid you all farewell, until next time. I promise to post some client pics soon, and not just horses.

That I am horrible at blog updates. I am sorry LN, JN, LL and SR.

You see I am now not only a Child Photographer, Horse Show Mom , but as of September 4, I am now a HOME SCHOOLING MOM! AAAAHHHHH!!!! However, I did hire an assistant who is awesome named Tanya.

Thankfully, I have a wonderful friend who has gotten me so ultra organized it is all going smoothly. My kids love it, I love it, and we are flourishing well.

Honestly, I don't know what to say . . . I am super busy, I have a great life, my husband absolutely adores me and the kids. We are at the barn almost everyday riding the horses. My girls have pony finals this weekend. WOO HOO! Good luck girls!

Ooh, here is a good one!

Here is a NEWBORN that I am obsessed with.... His name is Jack, Future's Jack Pot is his registered name. Isn't he gorgeous? His Mother was only 14.3 hands but his father is 18.2. Jack is going to be a big boy! The indoor shots were at 6 days old. The outdoor shots were at 13 days. I love him.

My best friend Dana and I talk about photographing our kids every year. However, with my schedule (yes I do take the blame) it had been two years since our last photo session. Of course I had to recreate a couple of the same images. The kids did great and were rewarded with Coldstone Creamery (and many fun memories!).

My girls are really into their horses. I love it as well, and it is something we do together.

Today we returned from Campbellville, Ontario where we went to try out a nice Large Welsh Cross named Dazzle. He is a perfect fit for my 10 year old and well, lets just say, ME TOO!

She was a little timid at first but once they clicked she took him over some cross poles. My timing was a bit off in this image, he is on the way back down. He has a really cute jump.

TORCH LAKE / ELK RAPIDS - BEACH SESSIONS

I am leaving this morning for beautiful Northern Michigan to photograph children on the Beach. All sessions are filled. Welcome to my online journal. Where I will try and keep everyone up to date on my world and what is going on in the world of FOOTPRINTS PHOTOGRAPHY.

I promise to do my best at keeping it updated, however, if you feel I am lacking please email me and ask for an update! I plan on weekly posts that will include of a few of my favorite images along with the story behind it.
